The procedure for the control of a motor vehicle's windscreen wiper system (2) is such that with a prescribed number of operating starts of the wiper system the set angle in the parked position of the wiper blade's rubber lip (6) on the windscreen (7) is changed before deactivating the wiper system. The angle change may be made periodically or with every other operating start. The wiper blade's rubber lip angle is changed by an additional movement of the wiper from the parked position into an end position.
