<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system that can reduce the cost of replacement when using a unit requiring initial characteristic values for control, such as a photoconductor. <P>SOLUTION: Initial characteristic values of a member requiring initial characteristic values for control are acquired from a recording medium saving initial characteristic values or a maintenance server device SV.
