PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential valve with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A a piston 8 formed integrally with a main valve element 7 is arranged on the upstream side of a main valve comprising the main valve element 7 and a main valve seat 6 to form a chamber for introducing a refrigerant from an inlet port 2. The piston 8 has an orifice 10 communicating with this back-side chamber and a refrigerant passage 9. The back-side chamber is connected to a chamber on the downstream side of the main valve so as to communicate with an outlet port 5 through a refrigerant passage 15 and a pilot valve comprising a pilot valve seat 16 and a pilot valve element 17, so that the refrigerant from the inlet port is supplied to the pilot valve through the refrigerant passages 9 and 15. Since the piston 8 is integrated to the main valve element 7, a member for transmitting the movement of the piston 8 to the main valve element 7 is dispensed with, and the structure can be simplified.
