PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide near-infrared absorbing glass capable of performing good color sensitivity correction, a near-infrared absorbing element comprising the glass, and a near-infrared absorbing filter equipped with the element. SOLUTION: The copper-containing glass comprises fluorophosphate glass or phosphate glass and contains at least 0.1 wt.% copper (in terms of CuO), 0.005-0.5 wt.% iron (in terms of Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>), 0.01-1 wt.% antimony (in terms of Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>), and no arsenic.
