PURPOSE: A gas oven is provided to improve the heat efficiency by using a knitted metal fiber mat and to reduce the pollution of indoor air by installing a surface combustion gas burner of premixed combustion method. CONSTITUTION: A gas burner(3) comprises a mixing pipe, a burner head and a knitted metal fiber mat. The mixing pipe is fixed in a main body, connected with a gas pipe and flowed outdoor air. The upper part of the burner head is opened by installing in the upper side of the mixing pipe. Flames are generated on the knitted metal fiber mat through gas to be emitted by closing the upper opening of the burner head. Thereby, a gas oven reduces the pressure and the heat loss.
