PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of a refrigerating machine oil by an insulation layer formed in a coil end part, in a closed type electric compressor in which carbon dioxide refrigerant is sucked and compressed. SOLUTION: The coil end part 143b of a coil 143 of a stator comprises the insulation layer 144 formed by applying and hardening a powder epoxy resin so as to cover a joint end 143d of a covered conductor 143a which is a conductor segment; and a protection member layer 145 formed by applying and hardening a refrigerant resistance varnish so as to cover the insulation layer 144. Accordingly, the coil end part 143b is insulated and fixed by the insulation layer 144, and the insulation layer 144 is isolated and protected from a refrigerant and the refrigerating machine oil by the protection member layer 145, thereby preventing component elution of the insulation layer 144.
