PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IIC transfer error detection device capable of enhancing the reliability of transferring data via an IIC bus. SOLUTION: The edges of clock signals coming from an IIC transfer device 100 within a period during which data are transferred from a peripheral IC 101 having the IIC transfer device 100 are counted. The count is compared with a predetermined standard value for determining whether or not the data are normal, and if the count of the edges does not match the standard value, an error signal is output. Thus, because a change in data caused by noise or the like, if any, can be detected as an error, the reliability of IIC transfer can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
