The operation control apparatus includes a controller which varies the voltage applied to a motor and the operating frequency of a compressor, based on the comparison of a second stroke value and a stroke reference value. A second stroke estimator is used to estimate the second stroke value based on the extracted counter electromotive force. A first stroke estimator is used to estimate the first stroke value, by using the voltage and current applied to the motor of the compressor, and a motor constant. The counter electromotive force is extracted in accordance with the phase difference detected by the phase difference detector.
