METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENCODING MPEG AUDIO DATA

PURPOSE: An MPEG audio data encoding method and system is provided to reduce a calculation complexity, to prevent bits from being abused, to determine a window shape and to set a psycho acoustic model when the MPEG audio data is encoded. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) signal consisted of a 1152 sample is received(410). A window type for each frame unit of received original signals is determined(420). The recevied original signals are passed through a filter bank(430), and an MDCT(Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) is performed for the passed signals(440). A parameter based psycho acoustic modelling process is performed on a basis of the determined window type and an MDCT coefficient(450). A quantization process is performed by using the psycho acoustic modelling result(460). An MPEG-1 layer 3 bit stream packing is performed for the quantized values(470).
