METHOD FOR EVALUATING DEGREE OF CANCERATION IN SAMPLE ORIGINATING FROM MAMMAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a degree of canceration in a sample originating from a mammal based on detection of gene abnormality useful for evaluating a diagnostic method, a therapeutic method and the like for finding out cancers in an early stage. SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the degree of canceration in the sample originating from the mammal comprises (1) a first process for measuring methylation frequency of HAND1 gene included in the sample originating from the mammal or an index-value relatively relating to the same and (2) a second process for judging the degree of canceration of the sample depending on difference given by comparing the methylation frequency or the index-value relatively relating to the same measured in the process (1) with a control.
