<p>In the present invention, there is described an asymmetric adaptive headlight system for motor vehicles consisting of four approximately symmetrically disposed, i.e. at he same height and in the same distance from a vehicle plane (POV) of symmetry, light units of projector and/or reflector type provided with light sources. The asymmetric light unit (1) is disposed on one side of the vehicle, only and its light source is a discharge lamp arc. The asymmetric light unit (1) and a meeting light unit (4), disposed on the other side of the vehicle, generate dipped beam. The asymmetric light unit (1), a distance light unit (2) and an equalizing light unit (3) generate distance light. The meeting light unit (4) is a contributor to a global distance light of the vehicle. The asymmetric light unit (1) is of b bifunctional type. The dipped and far beam of the asymmetric light unit (1) is horizontally movable within a {gamma} angle range depending on angular displacement/position of the steering wheel and/or depending on information of sensors or devices describing curvature of the road in front of the vehicle.</p> |
