PURPOSE: Provided are an artificial spheric light stone for stone washing having improved abrasion resistance, increased use times of with less cost, and a method for producing the same which is suitably applied for mass production with a low defect rate. CONSTITUTION: The artificial spheric light stone for stone washing comprises bentonite, glass powder, and one or more materials selected from a group consisting of feldspar, aluminum hydroxide and zeolite, and optionally further comprises sodium hydroxide, water glass and calcium carbonate. The artificial spheric light stone is produced by: mixing bentonite, glass powder, one or more materials selected from a group consisting of feldspar, aluminum hydroxide and zeolite with water; forming the mixture; subjecting the formed mixture to a tunnel-type continuous calcining furnace which is comprised of a preheating area(2), a calcinating area(3), a cooling area(4), and a mesh belt(5) which moves on the bottom of the tunnel(1) to pass the above-mentioned areas.
