PURPOSE: A method for managing a database performance is provided to understand the database performance contrasted with system resources and easily tune a troubled part by tracing a real-time or stored log. CONSTITUTION: The DBScope comprises an I/O(Input/Output) bottleneck resolution module, a current SQL(Structured Query Language) collection module, a schedule SQL collection module, and a tuning section module. The current SQL collection module makes an agent module read the CPU resource and a database SQL activity situation on a current point, and transfers the information to a client. The schedule SQL collection module automatically collects the SQLs, calculates a variance that a newly executed SQL affects the database performance data, and generates/displays time transition graphs to one screen. The tuning section module traces a table structure and an activity of a database optimizer in order to analyze problems in detail and understand a cause.
