METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TRANSMISSION OF UPWARD DATA IN EPON AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method for controlling the transmission of upward data in an EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) and an apparatus therefor are provided to simultaneously or selectively perform a fixed band assignment function and a dynamic band assignment function. CONSTITUTION: A band assigning unit(430) generates a transmission permission message for assigning an upward data transmission bandwidth according to ONUs(Optical Network Units). A storing unit(450) stores the transmission permission message according to a message type. A scheduler(470) reads the transmission permission message according to a certain priority from the storing unit(450), designates the certain priority, decides a transmission start time of upward data, and outputs the upward data.
