An input gear wheel (1) is rotated by an external pin. The rotation of the output gear wheel rotation axis follows the rotation of the input gear wheel rotation axis into a new spatial position with the same orientation. The edge of the output gear wheel segment has an engagement point (6) for which the angular rotation is related to that of the input gear wheel rotation axis. This engagement point can be used to secure a steering mechanism (5). The steering device comprises a frame (4) or casing, an input gear wheel segment with a rotation axis which has a fixed position relative to the frame, an output gear wheel segment with a rotation axis which has a fixed position relative to the frame, a toothed axle (2) located between the two gear wheel segments and mounted at both ends in the frame. Rotation of the input gear wheel segment is converted into rotation of the axle and the output gear wheel segment converts the axle rotation into a rotary movement in the opposite direction to the rotation of the input gear wheel segment.
