The invention concerns a safety barrier for highways or the like, including rails in abutted assembly and fixed on posts spaced apart and driven into the ground. At least one rail of the barrier is made of wood and has synthetic fibers fixed on at least a rear part of the rail, extending over substantially the entire length of the rail.
