PURPOSE: An age certification device for use in an electronic apparatus and a method for identifying an age by using the same are provided to previously identify the age of a corresponding user before the user utilizes an electronic apparatus such as a vending machine. CONSTITUTION: An age certification device for use in an electronic apparatus includes a housing, a plurality of scan sensors(S1 - SN), a storage block(14), a time measurement block(15) and an age identification controller(10). The housing is provided with an opening for loading and unloading the identification card of the user who want to utilize the electronic apparatus. The plurality of scan sensors(S1 - SN) generates a series of age information by scanning the identification card when the user loads the identification card through the opening. The storage block(14) stores the age information to calculate the basic birth year corresponding to the age identification information. The time measurement block(15) measures the current time to use the electronic apparatus in real time. And, the age identification controller(10) over-laps the age identifier recorded on the age identification scan information with the age recorded on the age information, performs the difference calculation of the basic birth year obtained from the current time by the time measurement block(15), determines the age of the user, transmits the determined result to the controller of the electronic apparatus and determines the operation of the electronic apparatus. |
