PURPOSE: An oil separator for a cooling apparatus is provided to prevent loss of heat exchanging efficiency and reduction of life for a compressor by filtering foreign materials through multi-stage filtering of oil. CONSTITUTION: A case(10) has a space inside. Connecting pipes(20,30) of a condenser and a compressor is installed from an upper side to a lower side of the case in order and connected to a condenser side pipe and a compressor side pipe. A capillary tube(40) contacts a floor portion of the case on one end. The other end of the capillary tube is connected to an inlet side of the compressor to return oil toward the compressor. A first oil filtering net(50) is a meshed structure, installed inside the connecting pipe of the compressor. A second oil filtering net(60) looks like a sponge gourd, installed between connecting pipes of the compressor and the condenser. A third oil filtering plate(70) is installed to an upper portion of the second oil filtering net horizontally. Therefore, oil and foreign materials are filtered from refrigerant through multi-stage filtering.
