PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for outputting/transmitting various reception recognition sounds/outgoing message in a communication terminal are provided to allow a user to use various reception recognition sounds and outgoing messages to his/her taste through a software change. CONSTITUTION: A controller(100) performs a general controlling operation. A key pad(101) includes multiple character keys, up/down shift keys, function keys, a select key and an ACK key. A display unit(102) displays a state of a communication terminal. A memory(103) stores phonemic database. A voice output unit(104) converts phonemic data into a voice and outputs the voice. An RF unit(108) wirelessly transmits the phonemic data. A vocoder(105) converts the phonemic data into a digital voice signal and outputs it. A codec(106) converts the digital voice signal into an analog voice signal and outputs it. A speaker(107) converts the analog voice signal into a real voice and outputs it.
