The invention relates to surface detection and/or generation devices, with devices for detecting 3D data of at least one denture base object, such as a tooth stump or an implant abutment, and the surroundings thereof, and devices for producing a denture element according to the 3D data of the denture base object. According to the invention, the following elements are also provided: devices for determining and/or fixing an insertion path of the denture element which is to be inserted upon the denture base object, and devices for determining and producing a primary element which is to be inserted upon the denture base object before the denture element and which indicates a desired insertion path for the denture element, said insertion path being different from the insertion path which is indicated for the insertion of the primary element upon the denture base object. The devices for producing a denture element according to data are designed to in such a way as to produce the denture element using the 3D data of the primary element. The invention also relates to surface detection and/or generation methods, whereby 3D data is collected from a denture base object, such as a tooth stump or an implant abutment, and the surroundings thereof, and then, on the basis of said 3D data of the denture base object, a denture element to be inserted thereupon is produced. Before the denture element is produced, an insertion path of the denture element towards the denture base object is determined and/or fixed; a primary element is determined and produced on the basis of said 3D data of the denture base object and is used to create a desired insertion path for the denture element, said insertion path being different from the insertion path indicated for the insertion of the primary element upon the denture base object; and the denture element is suitably produced according to the 3D data of the primary element for its insertion thereupon. |
