A casting product (60) for forming a hard structure about an object includin g a flexible fibrous substrate (12) impregnated with a fluid-activated resin a nd a protective flexible casing (12) surrounding the impregnated substrate. The casing includes a sealable passageway (14) defined between the atmosphere an d the interior of the casing, and is configured to permit injection of fluid, and removal of vapors and extant fluid with a vacuum from the casing.
