A reclosable pouch includes first and second pouch walls (26, 28) having mal e and female closure elements (42, 44) disposed on and separate from the first and second pouch walls (26, 28), respectively. The female profile element (4 2) includes a female profile member (64) and first and second flanges (70) integral with and disposed on either side of the female profile (64). Each o f the first and second flanges (70) includes a first portion (72) of substantially uniform thickness and a second portion (74) having a thickness less than the first portion (72) and where the second portion (74) is dispos ed between and contiguous with the first portion (72) and the female profile member (64). |
