The tunneling machine has an exterior cylindrical housing (1) enclosing an impact wheel at its front end. A waste remover inside the housing discharges the waste to the rear. The outer housing has an inner lining (23) radially spaced from it and having perforations. The lining defines a gap (25) with the housing to receive a pressure fluid which is injected to prevent debris sticking onto the internal face.
