PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for providing a vehicle navigation and geographic information are provided to improve the service quality by providing the vehicle navigation and the geographic information to an external terminal provided with a GPS(Global Positioning Systems) receiver. CONSTITUTION: A database unit stores and manages geographic information for service area and navigation information per a unit distance within the service area. A data receiving unit(560) receives information requiring message including GPS data from the external terminal provided with a GPS receiver. A control unit(540) generates a control signal for extracting location information of a corresponding terminal based on the GPS data received through the data receiving unit(560). A database management unit searches the database unit to extract the location information of the corresponding terminal. A geographic calculating unit(570) extracts the location information of the corresponding terminal based on the location information extracted from the database management unit and performs a geographic calculation for providing navigation information based on the location information. A phase calculating unit(580) extracts the geographic information, phase information, and attribute information for the area where the corresponding terminal is located, to thereby extract neighboring geographic information. A viewing processing module(590) takes the processed result of the geographic calculating unit(570) and the phase calculating unit(580) to convert it into a form suitable for displaying on a screen the location of the corresponding terminal. A data transmitting unit(600) transmits the processed result of the viewing processing module(590) to the corresponding terminal.
