PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-read copy with a digital copying machine which can read successive original images on multiple pages to edit and output on one copy paper. SOLUTION: The digital copying machine, after an initial setting completes, initiates reading of an original to detect its size and an orientation (#60-#62). The original images are stored in a memory unit with no graphic indication so that, before an partition paper in the original is detected, the original images are copied on a same copying paper until number of the original papers come to four or the orientation of the original changes (#63-#70). Therefore, the digital copying machine with 4-in-1 copy mode can sort the copied papers by intended image information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
