<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a cover for protecting an automobile that it takes a lot of effort to attach or remove a separately prepared cover such as a seat cover in each time, and it is very troublesome to store the cover and the inadequate storage causes many damages due to high temperature in the summer, freeze in the winter, and so on. <P>SOLUTION: A protective cover unit for an automobile has a storage case 1 which stores a spring take-up cover 2 and in which a magnet sheet 4 is attached to the bottom and an antitheft belt 5 is attached at the both ends in the longitudinal direction. The protective cover unit is mounted on the roof of the automobile body. The spring take-up cover 2 is drawn out and held on the automobile body with a hook 7. If the hook 7 is detached, the cover is automatically stored in the storage case 1.
