PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk holding device in which the insertion posture and the transport direction of a disk is freely selectable for a disk player capable of playing two kinds of small and large disks. SOLUTION: This disk holding device has structure that a pair of disk holding arms 3, 3, springs 7, 7 for urging the disk holding arms 3, 3 in closing directions, a pair of disk receiving members 4, 4, holding releasing levers 5, 5 for pressing the disk holding arms 3, 3 in opening directions, and springs 71, 71 for urging the holding releasing levers 5, 5 in directions apart from the disk holding arms 3, 3 are arranged inside a disk holding case 22. The disk receiving members 4, 4 receive disks on a common rotary shaft by switching disk receiving postures in accordance with the sizes of the inserted disks. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
