SURFACE HEAT TREATED POLYESTER FLOSS

PURPOSE: Surface heat treated polyester floss is characterized by improving the touch, surface smoothing property, sound absorption capacity, bending strength and vapor proofing property. CONSTITUTION: Surface heat treated polyester floss is obtained by the steps of: preparing polyester binder fiber containing low-melting point polyester; preparing polyester matrix fiber having higher melting point than the low-melting point polyester; mixing and carding the polyester binder fiber and the polyester matrix fiber to manufacture web; laying the web; bonding the laid web at temperature being higher than a melting point of the low-melting point polyester and being lower than a melting point of the polyester matrix fiber to manufacture floss; cooling the bonded floss; and then hot press rolling one side or both sides of the cooled floss at 150-250deg.C to form a heat treated film having an average pore size of under 500μm. The low-melting point polyester has a melting point of 80-120deg.C.
