PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost small-sized optical multiplexer/demultiplexer whose cost is low and which is small and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: An integrted optical multiplexer/demultiplexer whose spacial integration degree of optical multiplexers/demultiplexers is raised by piling up two or more multiplxer/demultiplxers in three-dimensions is provided. Cost reduction and miniaturization of housing per one optical multiplexer/demutiplxer can be attained by sharing optical elements of a wavelength selecting filter, a diffraction grating and the like with a plurality of optical multiplxers/demultiplexers and by performing the aligning of optical paths en block and, at the same time, by reducing the number of components.
