PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for transferring data packet, by which the time for processing data packets at a gateway, is fixed. SOLUTION: The device which transfers data packets between data networks has a first means which accumulates data packets generated from a first network, a second means which accumulates data packets to be transferred to a second network, and a means which filters the data packet generated from the first network. The device also has a means which transfers the data packet accumulated in the first means to the second means, when the packets are to be transferred to the second network. In addition, the device also has a means which subordinates the writing of the data packets to be transferred to the second network in the second means to the readout of data packets from the first means, so as to make the transfer time with respect to all data packets in the device.
