PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pickup device high in heat dissipation efficiency and low in manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A laser light source body 61 and a radiation plate 74 are disposed at a pickup base 51. The laser light source body 61 irradiates an optical disk 41 with a laser optical flux. At least a part of the radiation plate 74 faces to a space outside the pickup base 51, has a prescribed interval between the part and the pickup base 51 and radiates heat generated in the laser light source body 61. Since radiation can be also performed from the surface opposed to the pickup base 51 of the radiation plate 74, radiation efficiency is heightened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
