PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that it is not avoidable that the thickness of a releasing agent layer applied on a molding die for glass molding reaches≥50 nm and then, the releasing agent is too thick and contains an excessive material and when the application and the molding are repeated, the releasing agent is stripped and accumulates on the surface of the molding die as a residual material, sufficient washing effect is not attained when washing and as a result, releasing property is deteriorated, the service life of the molding die is reduced and the manufacture of excellent quality press molding is difficult to be continued. SOLUTION: The molding die 1 is constituted such that the releasing agent is applied on an inner peripheral surface of a recessed part 2 by spraying or the like to assume it as a releasing agent layer 5A, the excess layer part 5a is removed with a rubbing stick 4 or the like to make the layer thin to form the releasing agent layer 5 having a prescribed thickness (1-10 nm).
