PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which an operator can perform a desired ink moving operation without referring to a handling manual, and erroneous operation can be prevented because replacement of ink, replacement of an ink filter, long term stoppage, and restart from long term stoppage are carried out as a series of operations. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder is provided with an operating panel for displaying a guidance and an image and designating an input, a control section and a software performing ink supply and ink collection, a software for controlling movement of ink, a timer ticking the time, a software for counting the time elapsed after stoppage of ink, a software for performing ink ejection and cleaning again upon elapsing the time and stopping ink, and a software for assisting repair.
