PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with various types of optical connecting cords by exchanging only an end part of a plug shape without exchanging whole of the optical connecting cord. SOLUTION: A conversion adapter for the optical connecting cord is constituted of: a recessed side connection part 2 to which aϕ3.5 round shaped plug 4 provided at an end part of an optical fiber cable is fitted; and aϕ2.5 round shaped plug 3 which is communicated with the recessed side connection part 2 via an optical fiber 31 and which has a shape different from that of theϕ3.5 round shaped plug 4. In this conversion adapter for the optical connecting cord, diameters of both optical fibers are set so that a relation of D2>D1 is satisfied when a diameter of an optical fiber 43 of theϕ3.5 round shaped plug 4 is D1, and a diameter of the optical fiber 31 of theϕ2.5 round shaped plug 3 is D2.
