ARC TUBE ARRAY TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage between contacting arc tubes by filling a shock absorbing material between the arc tubes of an arc tube array. SOLUTION: The arc tube array type display device is equipped with an arc tube array with a plurality of arc tubes placed in parallel with discharge gas sealed inside, and a pair of supporting bodies pinching the arc tube array from a display surface side and a back surface side and also with an electrode formed to impress voltage to the arc tubes on an opposing surface of the arc tube array. A shock absorbing material to prevent breakage due to contacting of the adjacent arc tubes when the arc tube array and the supporting bodies are bent to a crossing direction with a longitudinal direction of the arc tube is filled in an adjacent part between one arc tube and another between the pair of the supporting bodies.
