METHOD FOR PRODUCING SOLID POLYMERIC PHOSPHATE AND RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE PHOSPHATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a solid polymeric phosphate, and to provide a resin composition containing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polymeric phosphate flame retardant having a molecular weight of≥about 1500 and a softening temperature of≥about 10°C comprises steps (a) to (d) as follows: (a) a step for reacting a phosphorus oxyhalide with a monohydroxy aromatic compound; (b) a step for substantially removing all of the remaining phosphorus oxyhalide; (c) a step for reacting a formed monoaryl dichlorophosphate product with a dihydroxy aromatic compound and; and (d) a step for reacting a product of the step (c) with the monohydroxy aromatic compound. The solid polymeric flame retardant has a linear structure and a content of phosphorus combined with halogen of <10 ppm. Further, the resin composition contains the solid polymeric phosphate produced by the method and one or more kinds of other polymer resins. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
