PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that efficiently supplies an optimum amount of liquid developer with optimum concentration to a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The entrance of a nip between a metering roller 115 and a developing roller 107 is disposed in an upper area 128a of a developer storage chamber 128. Therefore, a low-concentration liquid developer oozed from the entrance of the nip freely falls and is naturally collected by the developer storage chamber 128. The collected low-concentration liquid developer is mixed with a high concentration liquid developer 148 stored in the developer storage chamber 128, and flows toward a developer supply part 132 along the inclined face 133 of the bottom of the developer storage chamber 128. While stirred by the developer supply part 132, the liquid developer is conveyed to a development chamber 106 and supplied to the developing roller 107 via a deposit roller 114 situated in an upper area 106a of the chamber 106.
