<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely measure the buried depth of a buried object by simple antenna scanning, without being affected by the size of the buried object. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus is used which is composed of an antenna section consisting of a unit of a transmitting antenna 1 and two units of receiving antennas, one arranged closely to the transmitting antenna and the other arranged separately, a radar circuit which supplies a transmission wave to the transmitting antenna and receives reflected waves performing a changeover of the receiving antennas, and a signal processing section which analyzes the reflected waves received by the two receiving antennas, and calculates the buried depth of the buried object. By simultaneously scanning the surface of a concrete structure with two or more sets of transmitting and receiving antennas, by antenna arrangement which satisfies the condition that the center position of each transmitting antenna is the same as the position of its reinforcement, two or more sets of reflected waves by different arrangement spacings between the transmitting and receiving antennas are received. By finding the time intervals between transmission of waves up to reception of reinforcement-reflected waves from both data in each case, and performing convergent calculation, a reinforcement covering thickness is computed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
