<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium realizing stable tracking and satisfactory high density recording and reproduction. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium, wherein a reflection layer 2, a first protective layer 3, a recording layer 4 and a second protective layer 5 are successively formed on a substrate 1 and light having 400 to 410 nm wavelength is made incident from the second protective layer side to perform recording. and reproduction of information is characterized in that the recording layer 4 consists essentially of Sb and Te, the reflectance of the optical recording medium before information is recorded is 8 to 13%, and the reflectance of an information recording part of the optical recording medium is lower than that of the medium before information is recorded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
