PURPOSE: A system for tracking a position of a stolen vehicle is provided to recognize rapidly the position of the stolen vehicle by installing a transmitter for transmitting a particular frequency at the stolen vehicle and receiving the particular frequency from the stolen vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A system for tracking a position of a stolen vehicle includes a transmitting unit(10), a self-diagnosis circuit(11), a plurality of receiving units, and a central control center(20). The transmitting unit(10) is installed at an engine room or a concealed place of a vehicle in order to transmit a particular frequency. The self-diagnosis circuit(11) is installed at the transmitting unit. The self-diagnosis circuit included a sensor to sense a state of the vehicle. The receiving units are installed at plural street lamps and electric poles of a roadside in order to receive the particular frequency. The central control center(20) is used for recognizing a position of a stolen vehicle by comparing a position of the received frequency to the stored data.
