In a printed circuit board assembly (1) comprising a printed circuit board (2) with at least one electronic device (3a, 3b) on at least one side of the printed circuit board (2), a first shielding can (4a) on one side of the printed circuit board (2), and a second shielding can (4b) on the other side of the printed circuit board (2), the two shielding cans (4a, 4b) are fixed to the printed circuit board (2) symmetrically opposite each other, enclosing said at least one electronic device (3a, 3b), the two shielding cans (4a, 4b) have a coefficient of thermal expansion that is lower than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the printed circuit board (2) to keep the printed circuit board (2) planar and in a state of tensile stress within a normal operational temperature range for the printed circuit board assembly (1).
