PURPOSE: A fuel cell system is provided, to improve performance and durability by enhancing the stability of shut-down and starting, and to allow an inert gas generation device to be omitted. CONSTITUTION: The fuel cell system comprises a fuel cell stack(54); inlet and outlet valves(41, 42, 43, 44) which are placed at the inlet and outlet of each channel, respectively, to allow hydrogen and air to be introduced into the fuel cell stack and to be discharged; a connection valve(45) which is placed on the channel in front of the outlet valve to connect the channels; a buffer tank(51) which is set on the air channel to control the stoichiometric ratio of hydrogen and air; a load(52) which is placed at the one side of the fuel cell stack to increase the removing velocity of hydrogen for reduce the shut-down time; a switch(53) which is placed at the one side of the load to manage the operation of the load; and a fuel cell controller(56) which is connected with the fuel cell stack to control the operation of each components. |
