LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for driving the same are provided to reduce a difference in a voltage between gate drive signals, thereby preventing a difference in brightness between horizontal line blocks. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(38) includes liquid crystal matrices. A plurality of data TCP(Tape Carrier Package)s(40) are connected between the liquid crystal panel and a data PCB(44). A plurality of gate TCPs(46A-46D) are connected with the other side of the liquid crystal panel. Data drive IC(Integrated Circuit)s(42) are loaded on the data TCPs each. Gate drive ICs(48A-48D) are loaded on the gate TCPs each. A power supply part(50) generates driving voltages to be supplied to the gate drive ICs and the data drive ICs. Supply lines are connected with the gate ICs in common for supplying driving signals to the gate ICs. The supply lines are formed of LOG(Line On Glass) type signal lines(LOGC,LOGV) formed on the liquid crystal panel for supplying the driving signals to the gate ICs, and signal transmission lines(52a,52b) for supplying the driving signals to the LOG type signal lines. Signal attenuating parts(Rs) are formed at input ends of the supply lines for having a resistance value larger than the sum of line resistance values of the supply lines.
