The device has a dome shaped commutation component (4) linked to an actuator (2) enabling establishment of electrical connections between contact points when it is deviated under pressure transmitted by the actuator. A collar (46) has a retention unit to hold back the component before mounting the device on an electric circuit board (16). The component is released from the retention unit when the device is mounted on the board. An Independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a commutation device.
