PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray inspection device for reducing leakage of X rays to the exterior of a device while continuously performing conveyance of an article and X-ray inspection. SOLUTION: This X-ray inspection device for performing inspection by applying X rays L to the article M in course of conveyance, is equipped with X-ray shield plates 31, 32, 33 and 34 for opening/closing a pair of opening parts 7a and 7b near the opening parts 7a and 7b for allowing the article M to be conveyed into and out of an inspection chamber 7. At least a pair among the shield plates 31 to 34 are provided for the opening parts 7a and 7b. This device is equipped with detection parts P1, P2, P3 and P4 for detecting the position of the conveyed article M, a drive part 30 for driving the shield plates 31 to 34 to be opened/closed, and a control means for continuously operating a conveyance means 5 and driving the shield plates 31 to 34 to be opened/closed to prevent the opening parts 7a and 7b from coming into an opened state by controlling the drive part 30 based on detection signals from the detection parts P1 to P4 while continuously applying the X rays L.
