The drive has at least one bottom bracket bearing (12) built into the frame (10) which supports a crank (14) with two pedals (16). The cranks are attached to an endless cable (28), with an idler mechanism, to transmit the driving force to a drive axle. The pedal crank for each bottom bracket bearing has a jockey wheel (22) in the peripheral zone. Two freely rotatable, rigidly connected crank wheels (26) are arranged in the frame. The two endless cables are tensioned by a tensioning roller (30) and are guided over the jockey roller and the crank wheel. The jockey wheels lock during the transmission of a foot pressure.
