PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method of an optical disk bar code type data by which a cost of a manufacturing facility of an optical disk can be reduced, disk manufacturing time can be shortened, and a bar code can be recorded, and an optical disk initializing device using the recording method. SOLUTION: An optical head 8 irradiates an optical disk 1 with a laser spot beam covering a plurality of tracks to initialize the recording layer of the optical disk and modulates serial data from a data generating section 15 by a modulating clock, and an optical head output control section 13 records data of a bar code type of which the recording length of a radius direction can be varied in an optical disk surface by pulse-driving the laser of the optical head 8 detecting a rotation angle by a detecting section conforming to a signal from the modulating section 17.
