PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibody which can be used for the detection, determination, and the like, of Escherichia coli having H23 antigen. SOLUTION: This antibody capable of binding to the H23 antigen of the Escherichia coli is characterized in that the amino acid sequences of the CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 as heavy chains are Gly Tyr Thr Phe Thr Gly Tyr Tyr Met His, Trp Ile Asn Pro Asn Ser Gly Gly Thr Asn Tyr Ala Gln Lys Phe Gln, and Gly Trp Gly Arg Gly Ala Phe Asp Ile, respectively, and that the amino acid sequences of the CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 as light chains are Arg Ala Ser Gln Ser Ile Ser Ser Tyr Leu Asn, Ala Ala Ser Ser Leu Gln Ser, and Cys Gln Gln Ser Tyr Ser Thr Pro Leu Tyr Thr, respectively.
