VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE HAVING APPROXIMATE RECTILINEAR MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for easily changing a compression ratio. SOLUTION: An approximate rectilinear mechanism 50 is connected to a piston pin 60 positioned at a connecting part of a piston 20 and a connecting rod 30. The approximate rectilinear mechanism 50 regulates movements of the piston pin 60 so that the piston pin 60 performs an approximate rectilinear motion along the central line in the axial direction of a cylinder 10. The piston pin 60 is held by an eccentric bearing 70. The compression ratio is changed by adjusting the eccentric position of the eccentric bearing 70. A hydraulic passage of an adjusting mechanism of the eccentric position is composed to pass through a link of the approximate rectilinear mechanism 50. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
