PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-bending apparatus which can be used even in the narrow upper and lower space in front of a bender and can bend a pipe in both right and left directions. SOLUTION: In the bending apparatus provided with a heater 2 for heating the outer periphery of the pipe 1, a cooler for cooling the pipe 1, a pusher 8 for applying the pressure in the axial direction of the pipe 1 and a rotatable arm 4 having a clamp 5 for holding the pipe 1 instead of two arms 4 to simplify the apparatus, right and left bendings of the pipe 1 can be performed by the arm 4 by optionally selecting the bending in the one rotating direction and the bending in the reverse rotating direction of the arm 4. The wide space in the vertical direction in front of the bending apparatus is not required by performing both bendings in the right and the left directions with one apparatus, and thus, the setting space thereof can effectively be used. Further, in the case of an upper space, since the apparatus is small, the manufacture of the bending apparatus is easy and the apparatus and the pipe are easily handled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
